Alle diere wat op 4 Augustus 2016 op die Neuman-broers, Rodney en Leonard, se produksieveiling op die plaas Newlands tussen Vrede en Memel aangebied is, is verkoop. Daar was 49 Drakensberger-bulle en 60 dragtige Drakensberger-verse beskikbaar. Altesaam 69 Merinoramme en 386 geskandeerde enkelingooie is ook op die veiling aangebied.

What a wonderful and successful day- with 47 bulls sold at an average of R43,414 and 115 pregnant heifers selling for an average of R10,922. We had over 200 people attend and join in the event. The highest priced bull was sold to the Cronje family at R234,000. Lot 4 was the second highest price and was sold for R100,000 to Oom Stoffel Buys. We trust these loyal farmers will have great joy from their purchases.
We ended the day with a delicious steak and pap and a whiskey or 2. Don't miss next year's auction!

Buyers from all over the country started arriving from 9h30am to do their final inspection before the auction and of course enjoyed a cup of tea and pancake on arrival. More than 150 people filled the stands by 11amwhich was sold for R80,000 to Abrie and JC Cronje. The average price for the bulls amounted to R39,000 and every bull on the sale found a new home. The female commercial pregnant heifers were all sold for an average of R9,526. With the highest price of R9,900. The following regulars and loyal customers who bought animals were Mooifontein Boerdery, Westend Landgoed, Jan van Zyl, Allemansgras Boerdery, JS Herbst, Joubertsvlei Boerdery, Botha JD & Seuns, Bentley Trust, Reimar Thatcher, George Brits and of course Klaas Venter. Some of the new buyers which we would like to welcome and wish to have a long and lasting relationship with them included Blackstone Properties, Drafstap Boerdery, Ruan Radley, Henja Boerdery, PWB Uys Boerdery,Viking Pony Properties and VM Leeb.
The highlight of the day was the very impressive Ram LOT 25 which was sold for a NeumanBros Record Price of R42,000. This year was definitely the year of the Rams. Their average price was R9,200 and all 58 rams on sale were sold. The buyer of the highest priced Ram was Lourens Bibbey of Frankfort.

2013/2014 was a season that will be remembered for its drought. We, however, in the North Eastern Free State were blessed and had more than our annual quota of rain.
As farmers, this year has meant that, although the world population is growing, we will have to produce more with the same limited resources. That is why it is so important that we constantly select animals that require less input and can provide maximum output.

'n Harde bespierde bul en sy bouvorm weerspieel hoe die moderne Drakensberger moet lyk.
The 2012/2013 season will be remembered by a feeling of gratefulness for all the rain we received. The crops are looking good and the cattle are in a good condition. We, in the North-Eastern Free State have really been blessed and I sympathize with all the farmers who are battling under severe drought, especially those in the Southern Free State and North West Province.

What a special day!!!! Monday the 4th of March 2013, is a day I believe would be remembered for a long time. The Drakensberger Society made history by introducing Drakensberger meat at a Restaurant called, The Local Grill Parktown North, in Johannesburg. Because Drakensberger beef performed so well during the Ultimate beef challenge it was honored by the Local Grill, dedicating the month of March to Drakensberger beef.
Beef enthusiasts and breeders sat down at 12 o clock when Steve Maresh, the owner of Local Grill, opened the day by welcoming everybody. He brought across the message from "field to fork" which captured the attention of the crowd. After eating Drakensberger ribblets as a starter Willie Landman, representing the Drakensberger society, gave a brief background history of our beloved cattle. A task which I believe he did with a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm and gained many a friend for our breed.
Present at this function was, Weber, Deli spice, Rib shack Red, and Karan Beef. The established food magazine called Food and Home were present as well as a writer from the Sunday Times Newspaper.
Jodee- Ann Pearton, who has received South African colors for cheffing and also took the title of South African Chef of the Year, 3 years consecutively was full of praise for our product, Drakensberger beef.
The day was ended with the hanging of a glass logo which has a proud position in the restaurant for all to see.

Neuman Broers is aangewysas Molatek se landswye Veeboer van die Jaar 2012
Neuman Broers ontvang die trofee vir die kudde met die laagste TKP vir die jaar 2012 van alle groot Drakensberger kuddes.
Ons sal die 2011/12 seisoen onthou vir die hewige sneeustorms wat ons einde Augustus gehad het. Op die woonplaas was die sneeu op party plekke tot 1meter diep. Ons was letterlik vir drie dae ingesneeu sonder krag of telefoonlyne – afgesny van die res van die wêreld. In hierdie koue tyd was mens weereens dankbaar dat hier met Drakensbergers geboer word en glo nou meer in die bekende gesegde wat lui “Jou beste assuransie teen die winterkoue is geharde Drakensbergers”.
